Mission
The mission of the Global Education Development Institute is to embark on a global journey of nursing excellence. The rapid “globalization” of nursing issues allows GEDI to apply new models and programs that maximize nursing’s contributions to quality healthcare delivery services and patient outcomes.
Our goal is to establish a network of institutional exchange relationships to advance nursing and healthcare education, processes and performance. GEDI collaborates with colleges, universities and professional organizations to:
- Facilitate student and faculty exchanges on an international basis
- Train and engage gifted members of the nursing profession worldwide to strengthen the role of nurses in the global goal for improved health
- Provide continuing education programs for interdisciplinary healthcare professionals related to the evidence-base for emerging areas of academic medicine
Our vision is to develop a cadre of local nursing faculty to disseminate and support knowledge sharing. By working with those who are on the frontline of the educational system and healthcare delivery, we deliver programs that may be replicated nationwide and worldwide.
